Ben Hernly
One of the themes of Catholic social teaching is to care for the poor and vulnerable. Pope Gregory was highly concerned about those less fortunate than himself. The Church tells us to care for these and all people as God cares for us. Pope Gregory tried to do just that. He gave as much time and care as he could toward helping those he thought needed the most help. He called us out, wanting us to do the same, to take action and work toward helping others. God wants us to love others as much as we love Him, with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. We must strive to be the best person we can be, loving and caring as much as we possibly can, and the Church tells us that those less fortunate deserve a certain amount of love that Pope Gregory recognized.

Good job Ben. You tied the pillar, Care for the poor, well in your paragraph.
Good job with incorporating the seven pillars with what the Pope said.
Ben,
I did not read in your blog an answer to the primary question of the assignment, that was to express YOUR understanding of the statement - "When we attend to the needs of those in want, we give them what is theirs, not ours. More than performing works of mercy, we are paying a debt to justice." What do you think Pope Gregory meant by sayinng that "we give them what is already theirs?" What does it mean that we are not "performing works of mercy, but paying a debt to justice?" these are radical statements. Why are they so profound?
Pope Gregory sets a good example for all of us. Even though his attention was occupied by many problems of the day, he still found time to help the poor and vulnerable in society.
good job of giving credibility to your blog by talking about Pope Gregory but u did not really tie ur blog to anybody else but overall good.

You did really well on tying everything together. I didn't see the connection as well between everything until i read yours.
You did really well because you explained the Care for the Poor and the statement of the Pope.
